Steam locomotive would be cool. But not in minifig scale !!! In minifig scale we have Trains series. Models in Model Team must be bigger. With much more details like classic Trains. The Chopper is a too big, but not ridiculous looking with minifigs in it. It only looks silly next to some of the other minifig choppers they have, which are way too small for the role they play. (Police choppers and med choppers are much larger (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.modelteam)

Well yes, a true minifig-scale train would be a nice size, but could it still be compatible with other Lego trains? Which existing Model Team sets do you feel are compatible with minifig scale? I actually am looking at the same thing. Not all Model Team sets are incompatible with mini-fig scale. Most are larger than that, just due to the fact that they are big sets. I think you're talking two different thing here (though both would be exceedingly cool.) A Model Team loco would be about as compatible with normal Lego trains as other Model Team sets are with minifs, i.e. not at all. If I ever get around to (...) (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.modelteam)

Man, you would not believe how much I would LOVE a steam loco with the old large spoked train wheels. I got one for Christmas but still haven't had a chance to put it together. It's definitely overpriced. The big chrome piece couldn't have been pieced together from smalling existing pieces but I definitely would have preferred it to be 2 or 3 (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.modelteam)

A week ago I acquired a copy of 5571. It took 2 full evenings to put it together and it was well worth the inflated eBay price.
