This is a little misleading.  Lego seems to switch around the age
ranges over the years.  I haven't seen them switch the age range on
system, it has always been 6-12.

The age ranges on _individual_ LEGO System sets vary a lot in the
Norwegian LEGO catalogue.  Typically from 5+ to 8+ depending on the
size and complexity.

This applies to Technic as well (with other age brackets, obviously).

For a reference, consider the Danish catalogue, which is pretty much
the same as the Norwegian:

  Age range for Model Team

This is interesting: 1989 - 1993 catalogs show the age range as 9 and up. 1994 - 1996 catalogs show the age range as 9 - 16. 1999 S&H catalog shows the age range as 9+ I don't have any other catalogs :-))) The box for 5571 shows the age range as (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jan-00, to lugnet.modelteam)
