The false idea that you can’t end a sentance with a preposition in English comes from the fact that you literally can’t in Latin. You shouldn’t just tack a preposition onto the end of a sentance (Where is the library? vs. Where is the library at?), but if removing the preposition altogether causes the sentance to stop making sense, it is acceptable to leave it alone, no matter what your past English/grammar/writing teachers may have tried to tell you. Remember, we also had it hammered into our heads that you should never say “you and me”, even though it is horribly incorrect to say “you and I” in any instance where you would just refer to yourself as “me”.
