Thats not going to happen. After their experience with Samsonite, I guarantee
TLG will want nothing to do with that sort of arrangement, especially in a
market where theyre already selling their own products.

It is little wonder why clones can provide a cheaper product-- they are
using TLG for all of their financial heavy lifting WRT advertising.

More significantly, stuff like MB is manufactured in China, not Europe. Its
made with plain styrene, not the more expensive and durable ABS. And its
pretty clear from anecdotal evidence that they arent anywhere near as precise
with their mold manufacture, and theyre probably tooled up in China rather than
Germany, which means they save a lot of money on that end as well. Advertising
would be a bigger slice of the pie, but LEGO TV ads are pretty few and far
between. Maybe if MB ran TV ads on a regular basis, TLG would have to run more
as well, like Coke vs. Pepsi.
