Hey Y'all:
I'm kinda answering my own question here, but I finally decided upon American
Express Traveler's Cheques as a method of payment to persons abroad. On the
plus side, one has to specify the sender, the date, and the recipient on the
face of each cheque which would suggest a fairly secure method of payment.
Also, they are available without a charge to members of AAA and fairly cheaply
elsewhere (at a rate of about 1% at one's own bank for example).
Are there downsides that I am not currently seeing?

| Hey: I live in the United States and have a semi-large deal pending with someone in Italy and I have been trying to select the best method of payment. I was going to send cash via a registered letter with UPS except that they informed me that it was (...) (24 years ago, 30-May-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
