Well, you're forgetting the possibility of having to scroll, which is why I
pointed out that the URL for his auction was in the title/menu area of the
window.
Another factor, which I have pointed out before, since this is a hobby, and
some times real life interferes, we need to accept that sometimes people
will post something that is a little off in their haste. I would rather
accept a little bit of this, and additionally not come down flaming on
someone when their post is over the line, than create an atmosphere of a
police state which gets people so upset they leave. My solution to the
sloppy posts hanging around as bad examples for newcomers is to cancel them.
Additionally, if a trend is developing, a public announcement is
appropriate.

Well, that certainly is something to consider, but I he was also trying to
counter John Neal's offer which was almost absurd. Of course this aspect is
part of why I also suggested the lugnet.market.free-money group, and have
some feeling it should exist even if we have a lugnet.market.services group.
I can see people being offended by these posts (even without an auction
reference), who would even be interested in lugnet.market.services, and
would probably even be interested in x.com, and getting the free money, but
let the post in lugnet.market.services be more on the line of:

No. Like I said, I think he should have re-posted a better post when he had
a little more time. I'm wishy washy as to whether given moderators who can
cancel posts they should cancel such a post, I'm beginning to be inclined to
say Yes.

| (...) Ya, I grokked that. :) So it's significantly quicker to: 1. Be on the already-open window with the auction 2. Click on the browser's Location box 3. Ctrl-C to copy URL 4. Alt-Tab to edit-post window 5. Ctrl-V to paste URL than to: 1. Be on the (...) (25 years ago, 18-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
