Well, I had a good Christmas, Lego-wise.  Although I get to cheat a bit by
pooling my Lego with my son's.  And I get to decide what he is getting for
Christmas!  I actually only got a Destroyer Droid (from my son) but he got 3
mid sized Life On Mars sets from me, and a smallish Rock-Raider set (among
other things) from his Dad.  And Santa left a Shell set in each stocking.
So it wasn't a bad haul.  And my birthday is in less than two weeks!  The
Life on Mars sets were fun to put together with Geoff, but he immediately
started to modify and rebuild them into more military-istic vehicles.  The
Destroyer Droid was fun to build, but quite an effort.  We got it to unfold
about half the time, after practice, but by then it was starting to come
apart, so I have to do a major re-build on it, and I don't really want to.

That's cool - I got a bundle pack from Meijer - the large Adventures river
set with the Aztec temple on it and a Ninja set. One of the Technic cars
that came with a CDROM. The Adventurer's glider from the Dino sets, and
several shell sets from a friend of mine. Gad. I feel silly not knowing the
proper set names/numbers but I'm almost off work and I'm too lazy to bother
looking them up. <G>
All in all, it was probably the best 'haul' of LEGO's I've gotten in a
single Christmas since I was a kid. I think my In Laws (who gave me the
Technic set) are finally realizing I'm not just buying them, but actually do
use them to build things.

I am certainly up to hosting another get-together.  I don't have much
scheduled for the weekends through February (this weekend and Saturday, Jan
27 are out), so if people want to chime in maybe we can find a time that
suits alot of people.

Hmm.. looking at my schedule, I *might* be able to do Jan 21st, but then not
till Feb 18th again. We're having company and celebrating my wife's birthday
within the next 3-4 weeks. (Happy BD, BTW, Carolyn!)

Probably for logistics, I probably would be safest saying any time from Feb
18th on. Possibly Feb 11th, but it depends on when we celebrate Lynda's
birthday since it's mid week..

Anyone else?  Is Jorge back from France or does anyone know when he was
supposed to be back?

I'll host the next central Ohio Lego get-together. Now is the time to pick a suitable date. We have a request for Sunday afternoons, which suits me just fine. Feb 18 or later has been proposed. Does anyone else wish to contribute a good date? I've (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col)
