Perhaps with a good enough inventory in advance, we could plan a number of
independant and / or linked circuits so that we could have more variety
running at any one time... Most of us have downloaded Track Designer, so • it
wouldn't be difficult!

That's a good idea - perhaps on 50x50 baseplates (problems with curves
notwithstanding)

I wasn't thinking of a modular approach, just of planning ahead as to how we
could best use the given floor (table?!) area in order to have numerous trains
running at any one time.

Anyway, 50x50 are HTF now. 48x48 are common, but don't fit in with Town
roadways etc, and standard Town 32x32 plates are only big enough for two
straights!

Good idea, but not always practical or safe! No two pasting tables will • line
up... Tables provided in village / church halls often have a raised lip • around
the edge making the transition from one table to the next somewhat
bumpy...

True...

and anyone who has seen the US (PNCTL?) video will know the • stumoch-churning
feeling of witnessing a 20 car Metroliner hitting the floor from such a • height
8-(

I think I have concluded that the best thing to do with one's trains is to
keep then boxed :-)

Ah, but is your box big enough to have a complete track circuit in it? ;-)

OK, I'll be the auctioneer - it'll stop me shouting "Pound!" at every lot
;-)

ROFL!

LEGOfest = all AFOLs welcome from far and wide
Minifest = small half day / evening meet - probably no-one travelling any
major distance.
Festette = impromtu visit to raid my stash!

In that case anyone fancy a minifest in Sussex while my wife is in Malta in
August?

Sounds good to me ;-)

See ya there?

Jono.

my little sketch for the hall (not found yet, but in my imagination, already has a solution to the table vs floor train layout debate. I had sketched both! As the floor area is always limited anyway, I had in mind a largish floor level 9v layout, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
