It may not be as hopeless for all independent toy store that wish to sell
Lego. There is an independent toy store here in Calgary, Alberta that does
sell Lego, and they stock quite a bit of Lego. Also, I was able to pick up
the Studios Monsters sets there about a week ago, while store like TRU and
Walmart don't even have them on their shelves yet. I've talked to the
manager of the store a few times, and when I told him he was the first in
the city to have the new Studio Monsters sets, as well as the Lego Island
sets, he said he talks to Lego at least once a week, and has a pretty good
relationship with them. I've also run into a Lego Rep in TRU once, but that
was a while ago. She said there was only one other in the whole city.
Calgary isn't a huge city, but I would think it is big enough to warrent
some more representatives working for the Lego company.
