Re: WHY SO LONG ON Light Gray?

(...) way. (...) If you go to a conference, and you have a question (or some information) for a speaker, do you stand up in the hall & shout the question to everyone? No, because it's not effective. Tell ya what Richard, I'll bring both old and new trees along to our next trade, and after I'm done setting you straight about the above remarks you can take a look at them and judge for yourself! :-D Maggie (who has found a second old tree to (...)   Re: In the shadow of bent trees

(...) Can anyone else confirm that the new cypress trees are no worse than the older cypress trees? We could probably just accept Maggie's sole opinion on this, but I'd like to hear it from someone else too. [Maggie's *just* a girl, after all, so (...)   Re: In the shadow of bent trees

(...) Hate to burst your collective bubble guys, but these trees are exactly like the old ones AFAICT. I have one from my son's town alongside a package of five new ones, and there is NO difference (other than the slight dustiness and faintly (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: In the shadow of bent trees

I ordered two sets. They were also bent. I'll be pretty surprised if any "de-bending" solutions have long-lasting effects. (I welcome the oppurtunity to be surprised.) It's ridiculous that I should be faced with such a task anyway. I am *extremely* (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: In the shadow of bent trees

(...) I think it's a combination of packaging and the softer plastic being used. The softer plastic bends quite easily; I'm fairly certain that these went into the bags straight. I'm rather disappointed that they used the softer plastic, too. It's (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: In the shadow of bent trees

(...) Nooo...ooo! It is as I feared. I was gonna order a whole bunch of these, but now I am tempted to wait for the second batch instead. What will I do with a bunch of bent trees? At a $1 each that's a lot for bent trees. Has anyone ordered the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

In the shadow of bent trees

Well, I received my modest order of 20 trees and, like Huw mentioned previously, they all show a pronounced bend along the trunk. While I agree that this can impart a nice "wind-swept" appearance, I am concerned that these are in essence NOT the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Life Before LEGO Direct

I was playing with the Internet Wayback Machine ((URL) when, just for fun, I called up LEGO.com ...the results were, if I do say so myself, horrifying: (URL) the next time someone complains about the current LEGO.com, show them this...to borrow a (...)   Re: WHY SO LONG ON Light Gray?

(...) Some quick math: 1,000 of any Lego piece (not mass marketed and priced minimally like the 3033) would probably cost at least $0.05 per piece, yes? That's $50 for 1,000 of the same piece. I realize that there's been inflation, etc., but that (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)
