Since I ordered so few, and since my use of the trees will not affect any
public displays of bricks, I'm not terribly upset, but it's troubling that a
product so eagerly anticipated could have been produced with such poor
quality.  In addition to the warped trunk, the plastic seems to be softer
than other trees in my collection (as Huw has also pointed out), and the
base does not lock to other bricks with any strength at all.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

It is as I feared.  I was gonna order a whole bunch of these, but now I am
tempted to wait for the second batch instead.  What will I do with a bunch
of bent trees? At a $1 each that's a lot for bent trees.

Has anyone ordered the globe trees? Are they likewise shoddily manufactured?

I'd like to see a response from LD on this critical quality control issue,
but I somehow doubt I shall get it.

Dave!, have you tried anything to correct the trouble (blow drier, etc.)?
Does it appear to be an issue related to packaging (that the trees are
packaged so tightly that the trees bend under the stress)?

I think it's a combination of packaging and the softer plastic being used.
The softer plastic bends quite easily; I'm fairly certain that these went
into the bags straight.  I'm rather disappointed that they used the softer
plastic, too.  It's slightly mitigated because they bend back quite easily
(at least, mine appear to) and the ones I straightened last night are still
straight this morning, so I can live with it - but I won't be ordering more
unless they're made out of regular brick plastic, like the pine trees.

Fruit trees haven't shipped yet in NA, so I can't help you there.

Disappointed,

James
