Re: An alternative? (WAS: Technic's only in a coma (WAS Technic's Dead ))

(...) Really??? that is one of the most often used metaphors for an exercise in futility. From the The Oxford Dictionary of Modern Quotations: "I'm not going to rearrange the furniture on the deck of the Titanic." --Rogers Morton (URL) Ford's (...)   Re: An alternative? (WAS: Technic's only in a coma (WAS Technic's Dead ))

(...) I agree. I have had no trouble ordering online from these guys. They are just like any other online retailer. Red and blue technic beams, gears, motors etc. A bit pricey, as has been pointed out, but if they are the only source, you gotta do (...)   Re: An alternative? (WAS: Technic's only in a coma (WAS Technic's Dead ))

I'm not sure, but I think this thread has now had more name changes than a dead LEGO product line. ;) (...) Name changes (after 20+ years of being in use) are a silly exercise. For anyone who's ever known it as such, it will always be DUPLO. And why (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.dacta, lugnet.lego.dacta)

An alternative? (WAS: Technic's only in a coma (WAS Technic's Dead ))

(...) yeah, I'm aware of the name change, but for some reason I refuse to adopt it. ..chock it up to nostalgia. and too long of a name. I still say SYSTEM, DUPLO and TOOLO too. (...) lol. that's not funny, but it made me laugh. never heard that (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.dacta, lugnet.lego.dacta)

Re: LEGO Dacta is now 'LEGO Educational Division'

(...) Yep, after receiving an email from Bernard Catt (EdEx), he's confirmed they do sell to the public, and they're working on on-line ordering in the near future (you can order by email). He sent me a catalog & some brochures & stuff, and going (...) (24 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

Re: LEGO Dacta is now 'LEGO Educational Division'

(...) I've dealt with Educational Experience before, very helpful and prompt service and they do sell to the public! (Well, at least they did - this would have been around a year or so ago). Unfortunately I can not say the same about Moore (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

Re: LEGO Dacta is now 'LEGO Educational Division'

(...) Incidentally, I recently came across another DACTA supplier in Australia, Educational Experience, www.edex.com.au. They only sell to schools, and they don't take on-line orders. Prices are pretty similar to Moore Ed. Just thought you might (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

  Kudos - credit where due

I was pleasantly surprised on receipt of PITSCO's new catalog. Finally, the ability to order some meaningful amounts of basics (think gears, pulleys) in bulk. Thanks! OK, I'd love to see more and the gears were backordered (I expect due to high (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jan-02, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

Re: But what about the Technics Bins??????

(...) We still carry the solar panels as a spare part (pg 51 in PLD catalog) at the same price as S@H. The item you are referring to is a solar add-on for the Simple Machines set. This also includes a 5 day lesson plan for using with that set. Dan (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

But what about the Technics Bins??????

Thanks for your response. Regarding pricing differentials I was thinking in particular about the solar panels - now priced far higher bundled with connecting wires while SAH has them alone at the original lower prices.....minor point. However, you (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

  Re: Robotics, Technic, etc.

  Re: Robotics, Technic, etc.

(...) John, I'll take this in pieces if you don't mind. I will take exception to the "greedy" statement. Pitsco LEGO Dacta (and LEGO Dacta specifically) is designed to serve the school market. Our business systems are designed to cater to schools (...) (25 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.dacta)

Maybe THIS is a better forum......... Dear PITSCO, You may wish to reference the "Bulk Technic Tubs" line under "Dear Lego" for some background.   Re: Welcome!

However, we have added quite a few new items to our spares range and will be adding more as the elements come in over the summer. The 2 new ones I noticed up (...)
