Specifically, they couldn't negotiate any deals with North American
Shell operations, and they tested it in Japan but it produced negative
results, partly due to "forecourt service", meaning customers rarely
enter the shop when they fill their tanks, a practice quite common in
the US which might explain why it didn't get anywhere here. I think
they might be better trying to go after fast food in the US, which
they apparently will be doing at McDonalds later this year.
