do I understand correctly when you say that the sticker sheet number with the
canadian flags is 004632? quite an odd numbering:

1) 004158 - with the flags of Germany, Netherlands, Britain, Austria,
Switzerland and Italy.

2) 004159 - with the flags of Portugal, Belgium, France, Japan, USA, and LEG0.

3) 004219 - with the flags of Ireland and Australia.

4) 004632 - with 2 flags of Canada

5) 003432 - with Scandinavian flags

I really wonder about the special treatment for Canadians ;-) does any of you
have a fine conspiracy theory at hand? anyway, this is data I can work with.

Willy,

Let me give you a little background on Canada.  In circa 1970 TLG started
litigation against the USA to get the LEGO license back from Samsonite USA
(because they were selling LEGO like they were selling suitcases).

Samsonite of Canada (a separate subsidiary of the Samsonite Corp.) was following
the TLG wishes much more than the USA was.  So in 1973 when these flags came
out, USA LEGO was back in TLG hands (and sold no parts packs such as the #939,
until new sets/pacsk came out in 1980).

But Canada was still licensed to Samsonite. So in Canada the same Samsonite LEGO
sets and parts packs that were sold there since 1969 were still selling in 1973.
In 1973 in continental Europe, Britain and Australia, new sets and parts packs
were introduced (such as the #939/#940).

But the #939 was not introduced into Canada until 1974.  So the sticker sheet
number for the Canada flag sticker sheet being much higher than the sticker
numbers for the other (1973) #939 sets is not unusual, since that Canada sticker
sheet was likely not produced until a year later.

To clear up confusion, what I meant to say was: Canadian #939 came with 3 sticker sheets: 1) 004158 - Germany, Netherlands, Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Italy 2) 004159 - Portugal, Belgium, France, Japan, USA, LEG0. 3) 003432 - Scandinavia (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.general)
