Hi,
due to the fact that this site is now subjected to German law, there are new ToU
for LUGNET.

The ToU are now more clear, changes are as follows:
Changes in “OVERVIEW AND DEFINITIONS”
- The headline is no longer “Overview and Definition”
- The explanation of the purpose of LUGNET is no longer part of the ToU (belongs to the homepage)
- The call for writing an email for clarification in case something is unclear to the reader is no longer part of the ToU (should be a matter of course)
- The broad hint to people who are not fully legally competent (age of 18) was moved to here from the old “Acknowledgment and Acceptance, section 4.”
Changes in “ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS OF USE”
- Section 2 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (It’s adequate covered by section 2 (new))
- Section 3 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (It’s covered by “Disclaimers of Warranties” (new))
- Section 4 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (It’s covered by “Discussion Group Terms and Conditions” (new), “Overview and Definitions” (new), and the call for filtering content by oneself doesn’t belong to the ToU)
- Section 5 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (It’s partially dispensable in consequence of “Disclaimers of Warranties” (new) and partially contradicting with German law.)
- Section 6 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (Implicitness)
- Section 7 (old) is now section 3 (new) with a few minor changes.
- Section 8 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (Contradicting with German law)
- Section 9 (old) is now section 4 (new).
- The consequence clause (old) is now section 5 (new).
Changes in “DISCUSSION GROUP TERMS AND CONDITIONS”
- Section 4 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (Covered by section 3 (new))
- Section 5 (old) is now section 4 (new). Addition: Do not post or transmit information which is glorifying violence.
- Section 6 (old) is now section 5 (new).
- Section 7 (old) is now section 6 (new).
- Section 8 (old) is now section 7 (new).
- Section 9 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (Covered by section 9 (new))
- Section 10 (old) is now section 8 (new).
- Section 11 (old) is no longer part of the ToU. (Covered by section 9 (new))
- Section 12 (old) is now section 10 (new)
- Section 13 (old) is no longer part of the ToU.
- Section 9 (new) regulates the handling of advertisements.
- Sections 14, 15, 16 (old) are no longer part of the ToU. (Doesn’t belong to ToU)
Miscellaneous
DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES: Shortened to the basics
TERMINATION and SEVERABILITY: Lapsed
PLACE OF FULFILMENT, LEGAL DOMICILE, TAX-ID and IMPRINT are new.

At the bottom of the T&C block is the new (and IMO much-needed) sentence: "LUGNET reserves the right to cancel (...) (18 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.admin.terms, FTX)

| Some thoughts on the discussion group terms: #7: clarify to allow use of FTX. #9.2: I think it would be reasonable to allow auction postings in groups that specifically allow them, though it should be pointed out that set of groups would generally (...) Many (most?) official themes and AFOL MOCs have a level of violence, whether it be knights with swords, pirates with cannons, or space ships with (...)
