I've found odd pieces here and there (often in the gutters of high-kid-density
neighborhoods when I go garage saleing), but the time I remember most
distinctly was when I was walking to lunch with a friend several years ago
before I came out of the LEGO closet and I noticed a red 1x3 brick on the
ground and just had to pick it up. My friend looked at me strangely, and I was
embarrassed about it but I couldn't bring myself to leave it there.
