We try to keep the cats out of the basement. Don't always succeed, but the
risk of one getting trapped down there and using a corner (or worse) to
urinate in is very undesirable.
Was that what you were asking or did I miss something? The *cats* think they
own the whole thing, and us too (as their personal servants), of course. I
let them persist in that polite fiction, but I know who can get in a car and
take who to the pound, and it's not them taking me, you can be sure of that.
