Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) The time lab is actually a fairly decent set (and has lots of parts potential - I've bought like 8-10 of them). I disassembled mine, but I did like the building. It's a little bizzare, but a much more reasonable construction than any of the (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

In lugnet.general, Frank Filz writes: <snip> (...) Well... what other sets are left, then? I mean, there's only about one more set that's over $10, that you don't "sort-of" like. So basically you just sort-of like all the sets, but dislike the theme (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) So did a lot of people--S@H is out of them, at long last (just as I wanted to buy a second, naturally). best Lindsay (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) *there*... :-) They have all of the sets at the Virginia LEGO Outlet store, I got a few at a pretty good discount. They still have a bunch if you ever wander down this way. =) I hated the sets when they came out during my dark ages, they just (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) <snip> (...) Actually, Time Thingies are the way to make themes interacting with each other. If you have means to travel in time, you can relate castle/town/space to each other..:-) Not that I like Time Thingies, by the way. I'm not a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) Well, one can like the sets without liking the theme, yea I know, it sounds weird. I think for me the problem is in the details. The Flying Time Vessel is a nice concept, but just seems lacking in some way. The Mystic Mountain Time Lab is a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'd just like to interjct and note that Mel the NLNLF was skeptical about the current attitudes towards Timmy when I described them. However, after placing a Timmy in her city (as a streetsweeper), I was able to observe her repeatedly running (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

An interesting question, just what didn't work about Time Cruisers/Twisters... I decided I liked 'em this year and got the rest. The dinky sets suffer from too many discordant parts. About the Time Vessel, last night I was thinking that the deck is (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) Yeh, I'm pretty much convinced that what's going on here is the same sort of thing that occurred with the Weasley Crusher character on ST:TNG. Some people thought it was okay, but a LOT of people just HATED the idea. And it DID get really (...) (25 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) And he has a *nose*. That's just plain weird on a minifig. Of course, you know what this means...big white eyes and a nose...Timmy must be an Indian! They're the only other minifigs with big white eyes and noses... J (25 years ago, 11-Apr-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) Yes! Great big blue plates with a half BURP-half Armada base has been the inspiration of many Pirate forts! (though the Flying Time Vessel is pretty decent also). A good start for those of us unlucky enough to start collecting after the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Time cruisers or Time losers? (was:Re: Pirate/castle helmet...)

(...) Allow me to rephrase this, now that I actually have some Timmies in my hand. Timmy is evil. The above was said at a time in which did not *have* a Timmy...
