Which is a shame, because 2BeCon was really a lot of fun (especially the year
before, when it didn't implode). And I don't think we'll have a corset-fitter at
BrickWorld (mores the pity), or the pirates :-).
But yes, on a more serious note, House of Bricks had a two-year run under the
umbrella of 2BeCon, and it was a great time - the sci-fi convention loved it,
and it was a really neat interaction between the SF/Fantasy folks and the LEGO
folks. But BrickWorld has grown out of that, not with any idea of "replacing" or
"taking over" any other event, but with the ideas of having another fan event in
the midwest. It's no coincidence that the two main folks involved in planning
BrickWorld first were introduced at House of Bricks.

| (...) Agreed. Some might find it important to note that Brickworld essentiall grew out of discussions at last year's Chicago House of Bricks. Last year's HoB was a great success, but the sci-fi convention it was attached to was--to put it mildly, (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
