Well folks, its finally here! The first all-Australian public LEGO fan
expo, Brickvention 2006!
|
Hmmm, $50.00 (+travel +accomodation), you are not exactly rolling out the
welcome mat.
|
Thanks for your comments Peter. We have no physical welcome mat planned, but
unfortunately exhibition space in Melbourne does not come cheap. We have
attempted to keep the costs to a minimum, and $50 is quite cheap for a 2 day
convention.

I agree that $50 is quite cheap. In fact, compared to the total it will cost to
attend (the +travel and +accomodation), $50 is very reasonable indeed.
Venues are expensive, and if you dont live in Melbourne, travel and
accomodation will be expensive. But to move Australian Lego Fandom to the next
level, we need an event like this, and for it to be well supported.
Yes, the program is thin. So far. But as people register, and volunteer to
assist, present and so on, I expect it will thicken.
I hope the Australian AFOL community supports this strongly. If it takes giving
up a significant portion of your annual budget to attend, then I think that is
likely to be a worthwhile sacrifice.
How good will it be? Well, youll never never know, if you never never go.
Cheers,
Richie Dulin
