 Dear LEGO / 551
    Re: Enough trans-antifreeze! —Jeff Thompson
(...) You consider Exploriens to be the last "true" space theme? Why is that? Is it because the UFO and Insectoid sets come with different looking (alien) helmets? Or something else about the elements included in the later sets? Followups set to (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

        Re: Enough trans-antifreeze! —Dan Bobrovsky
I would have to agree that the Insectoids are truly (in my humble opinion) NOT A REAL SPACE THEME!!! UFO although totally differently sculpted (I'm still a classical type of guy) and not too much to mt liking....is still a true Space theme!! (I (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) LEGO ships the insectoid sets in boxes marked "Space." They're in the right set number range to be a part of the Space line.         Re: Enough trans-antifreeze! —Aaron West
I just mean that "true" space themes to me were the 1980's sets based on little yellow headed people exploring the galaxy (like in the original idea book). It is mostly a feeling I have from my childhood when LEGO was a peaceful universe where they (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

         Re: Enough trans-antifreeze! —Jeff Thompson
(...) Smile. That works. But by that definition, at least in my universe, the Insectoid sets are definitely space sets - they don't seem particularly war-oriented - no more so than any other space theme I can think of, and much less so than the (...)          Re: Enough trans-antifreeze! —Aaron West
(...) On reflection (and a shower) I have to agree about the Insectoids. They do fit my definition of true space. Were I not to admit that, I'd be a racist. Just cause they don't have yellow heads is no excuse not to include them. I guess they just (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

(...) *Bbzzztt* Logic error. You're arguing that "If A, then B" is an invalid (ie, false) statement (A = "Set is in the 68** or 69** range", B = "Set is a Space set").
