LUGNET is based on LEGO(R) products and will not have MEGA BLOKS in its
database.

This seems like an unnecessarily severe attitude to take.

It costs money to run a server.  You wanna throw your own money at hosting
content related to imitation brands, go right ahead.  There are plenty of
hosting services.

I say we should
have both a Tyco and a Mega Bloks clones database link from at least the
off- topic clone-brands section of Lugnet.  If one is interested one can
find it; if one is not interested, one never has to see it!

I agree.

I realize that Lugnet is owned by two persons, and is not a democracy -- but
I think that there are many Lugnet users that would be grateful to have
access to clone information when they need it.

I'm not against helping people find information about imitation brands.  I'm
against hosting that information directly (say, in a database or catalogue).

I can contribute a handful of scanned instructions myself...

Does a consensus of Lugnet users in favor of creating such a clone database
matter at all in this decision, Todd?

Do whatever you want off-site.  Send me a URL and I'll put a link to it from
the lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands entrypage.
