:)

I have actually been noticing this problem in every theme except for Town +
Train.

Yeah, town & train are most certainly better... although I find that a
signifigantly large portion of my people are employed in emergency services...
But there is certainly a more healthy amount of everyday Joes and Janes.

Lots of White Collar very little Blue Collar.  For example if you were
to get all the Classic Star Wars Sets you would end up with...

5 Pilots for 3 Ships (Two of which are Luke)
1 Desert Luke (OK)
1 Jugle Luke (OK)
1 Old Obi Wan (OK)
1 Mechanic (More mechanics!!! This poor guy gets worked to the bone.  I
actually love this Fig I currently have 6 and need more)
1 Rebel Soldier (Hoth) (How do you wage a rebelion with 1 soldier and what
happens if you have to fight on a desert planet?)
1 Darth Vader (OK)
2 Scout Troopers (More Blue collar Imperials please)

Yep... 30% Lukes... Ugly.
Although it's better than Episode I stuff... the only blue-collar people they
have are the battle droids and arguably the Gungans. No random Naboo soldiers
or Trade Federation reps, or random crowd members for the Pod Race... (Although
some of the crowd for the Pod Race in the movie was made from painted Q-Tips!)

I would love to get some Citizens + Female SW Figs.

I see the same problem in other themes as well.  Lots of Kings/Rulers quite a
few Solders but no subjects to rule/oppress.

I guess that citizenry is just not exciting enough for kids in TLG's oppinion.

Yeah, sadly I think kids don't really want a 'citizen's house' or something. I
know TLG wants to be gender neutral, but let's face it, I'd bet that the vast
majority of the kids playing with Lego are boys; and boys would rather have
exciting rescues and wars rather than playing house. Hence, (I tend to agree
with TLG, sadly) civilian life just won't sell. For castle, I might recommend
something like a peasant or two in each castle... carrying a hay-cart or
something, looking after the horses, etc. Would help slowly build up the
peasant population perhaps, and still would be appealing.

Laterz,
DaveE

Obviously, TLG uses the SCA/Rennie view of the middle ages: everybody who wants to be can be a noble! Who wants to be a peasant? "Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!" Beth Reiten (...) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.castle)
