It's no less realistic than the first Castle set I ever got my hands on.  You
might remember it.  Yellow walls?

And no castle has ever been anything except primarily gray or black since.
Besides, I don't like 375 precisely for the reason you mention (yellow).  If you
like the yellow castle and the Saturday Morning Cartoon approach, be my guest
and buy them - I never said that Lego has made a bad business decision in this
latest approach, just one that ignores what Castle fans here have asked for.

It's like they haven't paid the slightest attention to what Castle fans have
asked for - which, to be fair, may not be the market that they are trying to
appeal to.

Every single product released needs to be designed with kids in mind. •  Yes, some
of them are designed to be distinctly AFOL-friendly, but kids must always be the
primary target audience for the vast majority of the sets they release.
Anyways, give it room to breathe and see what develops in the next couple years
before you condemn the revival of such a staple minifig theme.

I'm not sure if this is a general expansion on your part, or you miscontrueing
what I said.  "May not be the market that they are trying to appeal to" is
shorthand for Lego is going for the youngest children who can handle System.  I
can't (and don't) fault them at that level.  I have said many times before that
Lego is primarily a toy for children.

I do not condemn the revival of the theme - I fault their execution of such in
regards to what Castle fans have asked for.  It could be worse - just look at
what they are about to do to the poor Pirates line.  :-(

(...) Which, when you think about it, isn't very realistic. How many European castles are white? How many LEGO castles are? Besides, as long as both greys are still perma-changed, I'm not sure how popular grey castles would be with AFOLs right now. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)
