There isn't, but there's a way to work around it. If you drag any random part
into the display panes, you can right-click on it and select Modify. This will
bring up a list of parts in alphabetical order (not numerical order, so 410 will
come after 4010, not before). It'd still be nice to get a part search
capability, though, since this method only allows you to search by part number,
not partial description. And, since the part tree is organized by full
description, it makes tracking down certain pieces a huge pain (particularly
those that are classified primarily as Boat parts, but could easily have been
listed first as Plates, Wedges, Dishes, etc.). It would also really help in
really odd situations where parts don't end up where they should, like #41862
(Plate 2x2 with Raised Grilles), which ends up not with the rest of the 2x2
plates where it belongs, but at the tail end of the Plates category after the
10x10 stuff.

| Hi all. Is there a part search box anywhere in MLCad? It would be useful to search on part of the description as well as the number without creating a custom part tree group. Thanks (20 years ago, 22-Oct-04, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
