By "partial description" I was thinking more on the lines of just bringing up
any and all "2x2" parts.  Anyways, I'm not sure being able to sort by full
description is all that helpful.  You've got "_Animal" vs "Animal", "_TECHNIC"
vs "TECHNIC", and "_Boat" vs "Boat". Everything that starts with an underscore
gets sorted out before "Animal", and the gigantic categories (like Brick, Plate,
TECHNIC) get poured in with everything else.  Basically, it's just a more
scrambled version of the part tree in the left sidebar.  You still really need
to have a good sense of what parts will be sorted out into which categories.  At
least when you sort the popup part list by number you can use the Peeron or
Bricklink search functions to track down the part number without having to worry
about how different people might classify it.  A great example of this is part
#2342, which is classified as a "Space Control Panel" on Peeron and in LDraw,
but is classified as a "Minifig, Utensil: Control Panel" on Bricklink (Peeron
tries to match both made-up part numbers and descriptions with LDraw, correct?).
