Should we document in the Pattern Number FAQ which codes we're using for • whom?
3. Subparts should be re-numbered appropriately; i.e., by character:

(Lobot):
s\3626bpS9a ---> s\3626bpSA1
s\3626bpS9b ---> s\3626bpSA2
(*AFTER* re-numbering the main file, as stated above...)

Won't 9 letter filenames cause problems with LDraw?

Dan
Yes, but there is an acceptable alternative naming convention for patterned
subparts (see How are subparts numbered? in
http://www.ldraw.org/library/tracker/ref/numberfaq/).

s\3626bpS9a ---> s\3626baS9
s\3626bpS9b ---> s\3626bbS9
etc.

Chris

(...) And that's how I renamed these files. parts\s\3626ps9a.dat ---> parts\s\3626basa.dat parts\s\3626ps9b.dat ---> parts\s\3626bbsa.dat Steve (23 years ago, 23-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
