I bet that I will think it is super cool.

Very weird. I just checked again, and I even rechecked mouse
behavoir. Neither the mouse nor the track pad will do multiple
selections by shift clicking. I have noticed in the past (in a molecular
modeling program) that track pad does not always equal mouse, and mouse
on a laptop does not always equal mouse. That plus the fact that Tom and
I are both working on laptops makes me think it is a trackpad/laptop issue.
By the way, shift clicking and command dragging don't work in 2.0b1
either (I thought that the feature hadn't been implemented yet). For
what it is worth, shift clicking and command dragging selects multiple
parts in MBC Carbon 0.6.2.

| (...) This is strange as shift-clicking to select multiple parts works fine for me, I verified this last night on version 2.1b1. However a thought came to me later during the night that I haven't yet been able to verify: while I haven't deliberately (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)
