- It would be nice to be able to select multiple parts in one of the
more-or-less usual ways (shift- or command-clicking) so multiple pieces could
easily be moved as a group.

Actually, shift clicking does work for selecting and unselecting multiple parts,
likewise you can select groups of parts in the text editor by dragging or using
the Apple key (I think).

Once multiple parts have been selected, then they will be all affected by the
command sent.

I tried again, and didn't get any added effect from shift- or command
(Apple)-clicking the parts in the view window (just the clicked piece appears to
be selected).  Dragging, shift-clicking, and command-clicking in the text editor
work as advertised, though.

Me too. Shift clicking and command clicking do not select multiple parts
in MBC 2.1. Shift or command dragging doesn't select anything at all.
Selecting multiple parts using the text editor works as expected.

This is strange as shift-clicking to select multiple parts works fine for me, I
verified this last night on version 2.1b1. However a thought came to me later
during the night that I haven't yet been able to verify: while I haven't
deliberately programmed MBC to recognise the difference between the left and
right shift keys it is possible this is the issue, at home I use the mouse with
my left hand and therefore press the right shift key, and it works fine. Maybe
if you're using the left shift key for some reason it isn't recognised???

The text editor placement is debatable. It works _great_ for small
models, but for models that are longer than they are wide (like trains
:) it doesn't work as well. I would prefer a list on the bottom or top,
but a list on the side certainly isn't a show stopper, and I can see
situations where a pane that pops out of the side is much better than a
list on the top or bottom.

It's trivial to make the drawer appear where ever there is most space, (ie a
wide model would open the drawer on the bottom and a long one on the right).
I'll incorporate this and see what we think.

- Add a 'Transparent' option (which would add 32 to the basic colors), and
perhaps some specialty colors (e.g., chrome, tan -- I'm looking at the 7468
lunar lander as I'm writing this), to the color menu.

I have considered an advanced option here, say holding the shift key when
selecting a colour would give the equivalent in transparent (i.e. add 32 to the
value). The trouble is that the feature wouldn't necessarily be immediately
obvious and this goes against the Apple Human Interface Guidelines. But there is
a possible solution, stay tuned...

Do you have any plans to make more recent MBC source code available (0.4b1 is
listed on your download page)?

Sure if you specifically want it, I can email you a copy.

Andrew...

PS. Last night, based on another users information, I found and plugged a
potentially fairly major memory leak that could lead to crashing. What with this
and the raft of new suggestions I'm in the programming mood and I see a minor
revision real soon, please keep the feature suggestions comming.
