This is unbearable.  I propose a potential solution to the problem
http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dev/?n=5450 and nobody bothers to comment
on it.  Instead everyone seems to prefer to rehash the tired old
arguments on the merits of various operating systems.  Who cares?
This has been argued before and a decision to maintain compatibility
was reached.  Let it be.

Let's be constructive and comment on my proposal, or better yet come up
with another idea.
