At this point I really don't mind what happens to Track Designer, I have
zero time to spend on it. I'm basically going to open it up to the community
and you guys can do whatever you want with the source, modify it, rewrite
it, port it or put the source on SourceForge or whatever.
Personally I don't see any point in moving away from a stand alone C++
Windows app. Most people use Windows and I'm sure we can come up with an
easier way to share layouts/registries across the net without having to
resort to porting it to some other platform. TD needs as much performance as
possible especially if we're considering adding a 3D mode to it.
If it were to be ported to another platform it would be a lot of work since
TD makes heavy use of MFC C++ objects.

| (...) Uh Oh! This thread got awfully quiet all of a sudden. I take it that means nobody wants to volunteer to create the SourceForge project... If so, I'll reluctantly volunteer to do it because I'd like to tinker with the source myself someday. I (...) (23 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)
