I collaborated with the authors of LDGLite, and LDView, and they can be used
as renderers now too.  Relative to POV-Ray, they have the advantage of speed,

like MEGA-POV (which is not available for POV-Ray 3.5, 3.6 and higher.)

Ahhhh..... :)

Sounds like I need to update my installations of various apps.

So in talking about "edge lines" am I correct to think that this is for the more
traditional type of instruction images... i.e. the more cartoon-like and less
realistic images with lines drawn around the studs, element edges etc?  If
that's the case, I definitely want to give this new arrangement a try.  As much
as I've found MEGA-POV to be useful, it seems to be an incredible resource hog.
So anything faster and lighter will be a nice change.  :)

You are correct.  Using LDGLite and LDView (with the proper settings), can give
you building instructions in a style much more like those produced by LEGO.

LDGLite is blindingly fast, and a welcome change.

Thanks again,
Allan

(...) Hi Kevin, I'm finally hoping to give ldglite a try. (Yes, I know this is an old thread, but it came up when I searched.) :) So I have ldglite downloaded and have extracted the .exe and the .dll that were in the zip file. Stupid question... but (...) (18 years ago, 1-Jun-06, to lugnet.cad)
