Hm. Interesting thought. I'd prefer flags because they take up less real estate on the map (and if we have a lot of attendees from any given area, the map will be cluttered there.) Hey TK, nice hardsuit. I tried using the technic bush parts for the arms when I was buiding my PA003 but I found them too short since I doubled up the levers. They do look great on your hardsuit. I like Stephen's idea of making flags for the LUGs, but how about making them so that they fit onto a 2 x 2 flat tile? They take up a little more room that way, but you won't have to remove them when you move it around. And I think it really looks (...) Dude, I love the carrier. Not so often do we see support equipment, I love it! Particuarily the engine, the chute from bed of truck to interior, and the greeblies on the exterior are very nice. Wow. This is really cool stuff - the research is evident in the believability of the backstories. And the mecha suits are cool - great use of antennas. Here's my latest project, which I've been working on for two months now. It's a large scale mosaic of a map of the United States of America. the reasoning behind building this was I wanted to bring it to the various fests, and allow people to place (...) The intention of my original email was to answer Henry Henkleman's comments that TLC should produce military based sets. Thank You Gil. You guessed right about the Pop Sci issue! It has sort of been my encyclopedia for my new creations. Most of the info I interpreted and rewrote it in my own style from that great source. I also found several informative websites (...) even though i don't like the whole pop-off-the-minifig-...ts-a-mecha thing, i have to say here that the carrier is great. first, the skillful use of tiles and studs with a minimum of exposed studs is very masterfully executed. also, the way the body (...) This is really wild stuff Tony. The amount of research that went into this project is obvious from the first look at it. The backstory on the suit and the technology behind it (I'm assuming that was gleaned in part from that Popular Mechanics issue (...) Ahoy Taking a break from the Grande Armie of the South Pacific, I came up with some highlanders as guards for the Brikkish Embassy in Port Brique. I for one support LEGO's policy of not producing modern military themes sets. In fact it kind of makes me uncomfortable seeing WW2 tanks and the like built from Lego. After I built the original Luna Tower, I got a few great suggestions for improvement, including making the top revolve. In order to include working elevators and a rotating top, I had to start over from scratch and work much bigger. This second (...) David I have run across the Maschinen Krieger stuff before and I have to say that I get a kick out of them every time! They are really raw and industrial! You suit is great. Hey Ryan did you get the camera for Christmas? That is a heck of alot of MOCs are they all still together or are you destroying as you go? Beautiful! Great SNOT work on the half track. The camoflaged version is especially cool. My favorite build detail is the use of the bottom half of a 1x2 hinge on the armored car. I'd never thought to use that element. Bruce (22 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.military)
