Hey Yaron, thanks, this is the first Ancient Americas MOC I recall in awhile. Somehow studs look good on Mayan pyramids, maybe because I'm prepared to see them somewhat "greebly". Golden Calf highlights: I really like how the calf changes from the first to the second picture as Aaron wasn't finished carving it yet. Nice detail. The design of the calf itself is good. Hey Brendan, I've only had a chance to go through the first story, The Ten Commandments. Pages are loading almost unbearably slowly, so it took a while. (...) Thanks. The hands are the yellow foam hands that come with the soccer sets. A useless mech doesn't need articulated fingers. The transformation is a compromise, and even moreso with lego than with the toys, it makes the robot form suffer, aesthetically speaking. That's no disrespect for the transforming lego mecha that I've seen, they are quite good, and in the case of (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Got one of the small NBA sets yesterday, so I've had a chance to examine the minifig, and it's different from the standard minifigs. 1. I really like this trend in mecha. Transformers rock! My suggestions would be perhaps some of the smaller ones that actually transform, like Bumblebee or Brawn. OH MY LORD! Those are SPOT-ON perfect, both to the DreamWave comics and the original cartoon. They are, quite frankly, the most perfect representations of any Transformers characters that I've ever seen...no offense meant to anyone else, but I am (...) it's interesting how you pointed out the "compact" look. to take it one step further, it's not only compact, but fairly basic in design and appearance. there's very little "fringe" parts, so detail was not a major priority for me. in fact, i tried (...) you are correct in that assessment. the head does look like a zaku. in fact, the mouthpiece/hose assembly i got from sun yun's zaku. that was the last part of the head i added (with reservation). i would have avoided that part and went for the (...) Jason Coronado, I must say that is a VERY SWEET mecha. You did an amazing job with that gla-glaish chasis. The legs are by far the nicest and most attractive section. as a matter of fact, there is a large gundam influence on this model. a lot of design influence came from a hobbyjapan magazine that featured 6 different conversions of the rx-79 (g) gudam "master grade" model from bandai. i decided to go with the (...) The Brick-brick mutilation is based on a repetitive masonry pattern on the side of a 1x4 brick. The 1x4's can either be staggered (crossing lines when stacked) or vertically stacked. Depends... I tend to sit on my sofa, but sometimes on the floor (wooden). It depends on the models size and so... I tend yo build large models on the floor, but details/smaller models I build on the table. It also dependes, some models are easy to (...) When I was a child, we had a great finished basement. One room in the basement had a tile floor and an extremely sturdy ping pong table. Good Story! Ohhhh oooooo, look at that Mech. Cool pop up Canopy. Very intersting Legs. I like the little radar dishes on the sides and how they are mounted on the round 2x2 plates. I cannot build on the floor because I cannot sit on the floor for more than about 2 minutes without getting a backache... (...) I have to agree, a chair with casters is a good thing. Oh you gotta go with a Rolly Leather Office Chair. If you can pick one up from an office supply store for cheap, go for it. We recently moved into a place that has hardwood floors, and now that I have space to start building again, I find that my feet get really sore if I sit cross-legged too long. (Big surprise, huh?)
