Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Don Heyse
(...) Ultra-cool! I'm jealous of the flythrough. Here's a few quick notes. On Windows it seemed to look for the help.html file in the root directory on C: and couldn't find it in the same directory as the executable. Put the current (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) I'm glad you like it. I thought you had fly-through basically implemented in your test version, though. I'm still undecided on the mouse tracking. I think the way I did it works fine, but it's not at all what people from FPS games are used to. (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Don Heyse
(...) Windows 2000. But I ran it from a DOS window. CD to the ldview.197 directory and run ldview something.ldr. This might give a different argv[0] than clicking in the Explorer. Don (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) OK, great. Thanks for the info. That should be easy enough to test and fix. --Travis (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Maybe 'Next' and 'Previous' cycle through all defined settings? Thanks for a great program! (Will test it on my Linux box soon!) ROSCO (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Orion Pobursky
(...) I thought I'd let you know that the problem, on my machine, with the sphere primitives turning grey is fixed with this release. One bug report: The preferences menu does not close when the X button in the top corner is clicked. It only closes (...) (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) That's great to hear. Since I never experienced that bug, I can't be completely sure what caused it, but I'd have to guess it was related to the progress panel if this is the first release that fixes the problem. (...) Hey, will you look at (...) (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Orion Pobursky
(...) I jumped the gun with this one. I'm still having the grey sphere problem on my desktop machine (my laptop dosen't have this error though) -Orion (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Jacob Sparre Andersen
(...) Cool. Thanks. I downloaded the Linux/x86 binary to what I believe is a Red Hat 7.3 system (might be 7.2 though), to test it. Even though the "File" -> "LDraw Dir" menu shows the correct directory, LDView claims that it is unable to find the (...) (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) Thanks for the report. My first guess is that this is caused by a case-sensitive filesystem, and the files have a different case than what the model specifies. All my testing at home was done using an LDraw install on my Windows drive that I (...) (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Don Heyse
(...) I'm not sure if this helps, but you could borrow the code from ldglite for case sensitive filenames. Or at least examine it for ideas. It also has hooks for MacOS which you should think about since there's a Mac version of LDView now, right? (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Jacob Sparre Andersen
(...) The files are located on case-sensitive file systems (that's all I have - except for some floppies), but the file names used in the files match the names on the disk (maybe except for some stuff in "p/"). I use all lower case for the LDraw (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) My LDraw code used "P/" and "PARTS/" when looking for parts and primitives, so those had to be upper case in order to work. I think everything else generally needed to be lower case. The new test version I posted a link to in the other message (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released *** —Travis Cobbs
(...) That's a good idea, but since LDView caches files after reading them, it will only ever check for any particular file once. So I don't think this will help. It might help, though, since I would essentiall scan the entire LDraw parts directory (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Handling of file name case in LDView (Was: *** LDView Version 1.9.7 Released ***) —Jacob Sparre Andersen
