I have put a test version of the LDView Linux executable in the following
location:
http://home.san.rr.com/tcobbs/LDView/LDView-1971.gz
This executable supports arbitrary case in filenames on case-sensitive file
systems. It does seem to load files much faster if the LDraw directories are
made up of all lower-case files, but it will find files of any arbitray case
(including mixed case within a single filename).
Please note that if you use Mozilla (and possibly other browsers) to download
this gzipped file, it is automatically gunzipped. I'm not exactly sure why,
because the file on the server is definitely gzipped. If the file you end up
with is 640K instead of 208K, it was gunzipped automatically.
Please let me know if this fix solves your problem.
