Build.fiction, fantasy, what's the difference? In the long run,
I would consider both to really fit in the same categoory, since,
they're both fiction, and of course, fantasy can really fit into
any genre is you stop to think about it.

build.fiction makes it more clear that the group is open to both SF and fantasy
(and romance, and various other "fiction" themes). Of course as you point out,
most of what we do is fantasy, and is also fiction, but I think most of us
would still get the idea (and lugnet.build.fiction is a lot more consise than
lugnet.build.literary-influence or some such).

Anyway, here's a thing to think of...what about those groups
that get generally no posting at all, such as Harry Potter,
Ninja, Underground, etc. I can go on and on about these, so why
not just take a few of these newsgroups, toss them, and create a
new one instead? It would make Lugnet a bit more navigatable, and
Harry Potter would really fit in the Fantasy them anyway...Ninja
could stick back at castle, since, obviously, most Ninja builders
are lurkers or posters at .castle.

As I've mentioned before, some points:

- groups really can't be deleted (in the early days, a couple groups were
deleted)

- every theme gets it's own group, this is a structural issue

- at the time lugnet.castle.ninja was created, there was a fair amount of
traffic which was getting lost, and the ninja builders spoke up. It's more
recent history is a real good example of why care should be taken in adding a
new group where an existing one is acceptable.
