It's nearer to Castle than Space, but I started thinking about the
commonality with castle and there isn't that much either. Pern has no
castles (holds and weyrs hollowed out of rock faces, and craft halls, but no
castles as in built for defence against other people), no soldiers (the
society is built on very non-war lines, and when someone does attack someone
else as a group eg Fax, it's a big shock), no magic so no wizards or
witches... you get the picture. About the only thing in common is a partly
feudal-type social organisation, medieval/renaissance technology level, and
dragons.
I'm going to post a message in Castle pointing to this discussion, see if
there are others there who would appreciate a new group.
