This is why I stopped reading .market.brickshops.  I'd be more than happy
to keep up with issues involving BrickLink and other brickshops, but that
content was being lost in a sea of flogs.

Exactly.

However it's sliced, I think there is a need for places to flog, and a need
for places to talk about various stores, technologies, theories, etc.

.brickshops, to me, is like .theory, .services, and .shipping, a place to
talk about mechanics.

.auction and .bst are places to flog. If .auction/.bst needs to be sliced
finer so that it has a "hey, I have this stuff up on ebay" separate from
"hey I am running a standalone auction here are the latest updates" separate
from "wanted and trade offers" separate from "hey I have these oneoffs for
sale" separate from "hey my bricklink store has this stuff" separate from
"hey I run a toystore with a storefront as a business and I have this stuff"
that's fine by me.

But .brickshops right now is too noisy for Eric's updates of why BrickLink
is down to be seen... or for discussion about other operational and theory
type topics. It's noisy with flogs. And the well meaning people pointing
posters there from .bst aren't helping.

Now, is market a "mess" or just in need of a little tweaking? I lean toward
the latter rather than the former (catchy title line though!)

(...) What about: .brickshops.admin .brickshops.theory .brickshops.ads Is this getting too compartmentally dorky? And should .brickshops.theory really be part of .market.theory? Just throwing out ideas.... ROSCO (22 years ago, 20-Apr-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

(...) It would be nice to implement this for all groups that do not explicitly opt for ads. . . (...) Huh? Why make .theory a subgroup of .ads? There's no reason for ads to be posted to theory, except for illustrative purposes. Also, I'd imagine (...) (22 years ago, 20-Apr-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
