One man's spam is another's luncheon meat, and yet another's chopped pork and
ham.

Great.  Go to RTL, and spam your lunch meat all you want.

This would be a Bad Thing.  Quite possibly a Very Bad Thing.

On what basis?

Having a simple, clear rule -- "auction posts belong in
lugnet.market.auction" -- is much better (for everyone!) than requiring
sellers to follow a bunch of regulations about how to properly post,
requiring 'the council' to review all those posts, and requiring readers
to filter out all the posts they didn't want in the first place.

The simple rule saves time and effort all around.
