If there is enough income from the initial 1000 or 2000 memberships that
I wouldn't need to run parts auctions anymore to fund the development of
the system, then that would certainly help me progress down the timeline
faster.

Oh no, no more Auczilla?

Oh it's not going away; there will always be parts auctions of that type.
They just won't typically be under that name.  The long-term plan for
auczilla.com doesn't have much (if anything) to do with LEGO; all of its
LEGO-related assets will migrate over to LUGNET.

I hope when you reach this point the Auczilla
interface will soon be made available to members.

Yes, it won't migrate over here until there is something here to replace it.
BTW, I probably won't be the one running the first parts auction here...that
would be an obvious conflict of interest.  It'll probably be a volunteer to
do a test run or two, like Mike or someone.

Now that would be neat,
Auczilla just presents the buying public one huge continuous parts auction.
If I have 3 lots of parts I want to sell, they just join the auction. When
my lots go sold, Auczilla sends me a sellers report telling me who to send
the parts to, possibly holding the payment in escrow til the buyer reports
reception of the parts.

When it's all said and done, there'll be so many parts auctions running
simultaneously, you'll be able to swim in a virtual sea of ABS.

(...) Given a little warning, I'll have something set up and ready to go as soon as you do. Would you be doing controlled tests with particular people, or just opening it for testing and use? (25 years ago, 30-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)
