  Nasty 'Reference' header chopping

Hmm... I just noticed something alarming in the 'References' header in Tom McDonald's recent post <lugnet.admin.general:823>. The last message ID is truncated after the first 3 characters...(not Tom's fault)... ---...--- References: (...) (26 years ago, 15-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Submission format for new parts? (Was: Error in 71427.dat)

(...) This is not directed specifically at Jacob. His post just got me interested in how to make it easy to deal with MPDs sent as attachments in e-mail. This is a script that can be inserted in a DOS .BAT file to make it easier to deal with MPD's (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Off-topic messages (was: Re: The Minifig Generator??)

If this is the way that the people around here act, (i.e.: not letting others post messages because of "off-topic" messages, then I rather not be a part of lugnet. I wonder what would happen if you did this to a 7-10 year old. . . Perhaps I am over (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: IR Transmission Range when bounced off of Ceiling...

I have another solution to the IR -RCX range problem if you don't mind running a few wires. When I ran the Stage Crew organization at my local High School, I had a remotely controlled Tilt-pan head for an 8mm video camera suspended over the (...) (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: GP2D02?

I own an handy-board now for 2 months and I have now 2 GP2D02 connected to it. (took me 1 hour to hook them up and test) You need a digital output-pin(like one off the spi-pins) or make use of the expansion-board, which has digital outputs. I (...)   So why build robots out of LEGO in the first place?

I have made the following personal observations about LEGO, and why it is my medium of choice for robot building. LEGO is very easy to assemble. You can figure out what you want beforehand, without really needing to worry too much about (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  3 sensors = 8 inputs?!

To further the thread on the limitations of having only 3 input sensors: One of the first things that occurred to me was that three inputs gives you 3 bits of input, which means up to 8 sensors. Depending on which sensors trigger, you convert that (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Workbench Design Idea -- Build it yourself

I have now taken this design one step further and designed a hutch for the desk. That will give me a place to store my instructions and pieces I don't use that often. I have been able to stick with the same design idea (no fasteners) and have (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Line wrapping in lugnet.cad.dat files

Todd, I just noticed that the system seems to be wrapping long lines in dat files. After posting two small dat's I tested them and found that the last line of one of them would not render, so I checked it out. The original file is OK, but the lugnet (...)
