  Re: The Real Chosen One?

(...) I think Obi-Wan speaks the truth when he says he never owned R2. Since R2 was originally aboard the Queen's ship, so I'd say he's technically Padme/Amidala's droid. But being Chosen One, can R2 ever really be "owned" per se? :) Also, did I (...) (22 years ago, 27-May-02, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: $60 for RCX 1.0 and Serial Tower

(...) Actually, my 1.5 has a power port. It didn't come with a power cord so I borrow the one from my train controller when I need it. I'm curious (and not trying to be a punk, really), but how can you tell there's not power port from that enlarged (...) (19 years ago, 11-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NQC's future

(...) Call me kooky, but I'd like to see actual DOS support (ie, non-Win32s specific code) for the serial port. I have an old, trusty Win3.11 laptop that I want to use when taking my RCX out to events, for last minute fiddling. I've found version (...)   Re: tougher lego gears

(...) This time I heated it for 10 minutes and let it cool in tap water for a fair while. The gear lasted noticeably longer - almost to the end (it's operating a elastic wind-back mechanism). But then it snapped. The gears always crack at the (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jun-05, to lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, lugnet.technic)

Where are the 2007 Duplo Sets?

I've seen some sneak-peeks of the new 2007 sets for Castle, Mars/Space, SW, City and Batman. Any word on the 2007 Duplo sets, specifically the Thomas and Friends line? My daughter and I really enjoy the Thomas trains and we're looking forward to (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jan-07, to lugnet.duplo)

  Re: Star Wars related wallpaper

Travis, Nice! I really like the individual renders of the Tie-Pod. I had to poke around to get the link to work right from the Wallpapers page though. Did you use the POV radiosity feature?   Re: life size "LEGO" saber

There is always the low-tech, Lego solution: build your own. :) I've uploaded, to BrickShelf, a rendered version of the one that sat on my desk for a while - till I needed the parts for another project. I based it on the mini-fig lightsaber and it (...) (23 years ago, 14-Oct-01, to lugnet.starwars)

  New Elements on Factory?

I'm usually not on Factory/Pick-a-Brick, but have been this week. In just the past couple of days, it looks like they've made some changes to the train elements: Added Train Buffer 2 (Design ID: 64422, Category: Transportation Means, Trains) Prepack (...)   Re: Inexpensive portability

(...) Rafe, I suggest looking on eBay for an old laptop. By old, I'm talking P100MHz w/ 32-64MB RAM; NQC doesn't require a lot of horse-power (I'm not sure about Bricxcc). For USB, you'll need something capable of running Win98 (P66MHz w/ 32MB (...) (19 years ago, 30-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Conrad, I wouldn't say there is anything special Lego-wise here in St. Louis. We have the standard stores: Wal-Marts, K-Marts, Targets, TRUs, KB and three KB Outlets sprinkled here and there. Last weekend the KB at the South County Mall (I55 & I270) (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.mo.stl)

Lego Float in Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
