  Re: LEGO makes Time Magazine

(...) Is it still a "new" trend if we've been building (as adults) for 20 years? But yes, "Congrats" to Eric!! :-) John G, GMLTC (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.mediawatch)

lack of basic bricks in many new sets

I was thinking about the current perception of "LEGO sets", compared to the way we AFOLs looked at sets when we were kids. Many of the new sets have very few 'basic bricks', and some of the sets (like Bionicle) don't have any basic bricks. Do we (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Yeah, that's it! (...) Wayne's is indeed impressive - but I think a cleverly designed smaller model can be equally impressive. It's harder to have a nice shape or to fit all the features into a smaller model. For these reasons, I'm really (...) (23 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: Pictures of 10ft tall Build Master Yoda

(...) I shot a couple of minutes of video during the tear-down process, including a rather 'interesting' bit with Yoda's head half gone. I'll see if I can convert a few frames to .jpg and put them somewhere. Only a few pre-built pieces of Yoda (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: SF Registry hits 1000

(...) "In an unscientific way" one could say that the 18 sets of the 10,000 that are registered by MN members of the GMLTC makes us .018% of LEGO Direct's Train market. I don't know the roll calls of all the other train clubs but I'm sure someone (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Thank you BayLUG

This is something I forgot to talk about at the last meeting... Saturday, May 18, 2002, was an anniversary for BayLUG...
