  Re: legOS

Guys, Everyone seems to be missing one point: The RCX does have ROM code (this is what loads the firmware the first time, right?). If you were to "jam up" the firmware, you could just simply remove the batteries, let the firmware (which must be in (...) (26 years ago, 25-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi there! Long-time LEGO lover, first time poster. Name's Fred (duh); I live in Sedro-Woolley, WA, which is pretty darn close to the middle of nowhere. I'm staying with my folks, but I'm employed and working towards getting my own place, so I can (...) (26 years ago, 27-Nov-98, to lugnet.build)

(...) Well, a couple of people let me know I ought to consider going to get it and even though I figured I wouldn't want it I guessed someone would so I sent my coworker after it. I'm sorry. LEGO '98 bricks are not backwards compatible with your old outdated plates. We suggest you upgrade to DirectBrick7.0 technology and reinstall. (...) S'cuze me, but try reading what I really said, rather than what you have read into it. I did NOT say that a good model has to have a lot of bricks; in fact, my favorite self-designed model is a spiral staircase, consisting of 2x6 plates, 1x2 (...)   Re: Most common brick

I remember back in the old days (the 70's) my brother and I sorted all of our pieces (~3000), all from regular sets. The winner was 1x2 red bricks. Now my piece count is heavially biased by brick buckets so I'm sure the contents of those buckets (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

I just got my hands on a box of old Lego, looks like mostly late 70's, early 80's stuff. Here's my opinion on the new sets (in descending order) 1. 4519 Cross track. Very cool. Really the only 99 set that is in the same league as the original 1991 train sets. A Must Buy 2. 4557 Container Crane. Nice set, with almost no Town Jr (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)
