  trouble with memory

Dear Fred Martin, I'm in deep deeeep trouble! A few weeks ago I first read about your handyboard and was very excited about it, because I was looking for a controller board for my autonomous vacuum cleaner. So I ordered the PCB from Douglas (...) (27 years ago, 11-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Fred and others, I wrote before saying that my HB is not able to execute IC. Fred wrote back with the idea of it being related to the 68HC11, the memory or the 74HCs. well, the dim flashing of either yellow charge LEDs should not worry you. all this means is that the Handy Board is drawing some power. if you have the wall adapter plugged into the Interface/Charger board, simply switch it to "Zap" mode. now, onto (...) While looking through the FAq I noticed what I think is a mistake - could you check ? In the memory map it says: Expansion I/O Bank 2 $6000-$6999 Reads Enable Y3; writes enable Y5 surely this should read : reads enable Y4, writes enable Y5. Can you (...) Cypress has their datasheet online. Look for cy62256 at www.cypress.com. If you just want a shortcut to backed up RAM, you might investigate Dallas Semi's smartsocket DS1213. Simply replace the socket with DS1213 and piggy back 62256 on top. You (...) (27 years ago, 30-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

What are the power requirements of the battery backed RAM and would it be possible to set this RAM up with a lithium battery similar to a PC so that the RAM would hold its memory for several years? (27 years ago, 28-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

We've encountered a problem with our Handyboard that we hope the list may be able to help solve. It all started with the "Normal/Zap" switch on the charger board, which was somewhat loose.
