  Handy Board software

Over the past few months, I've been reading with great interest many of the exciting things people here have written about the Handy Board... (10 URLs) I'm really starting to think that one of these would be a great addition to my LEGO collection. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

touch sensors types? and initial ROBOLAB review

The Pitsco Lego Dacta catalogue has two touch sensors: N79888 a 2x4 brick with attached wire: $18.50 N77991 a 2x3 brick using seperate std 2x2 brick lead connectors: $11.00 (you get 4 of these sensors in the robolab starter set). My web hosting service (hostsave.com) stopped providing my web pages sometime in the last 24 hours and I'm not sure how long it will take to get them to fix it. Also, a correction: I meant to (...) Check the 9V battery in the tower, and check the position of the RCX in relation to the tower--for the firmware download only, it seems to need to be at about the same level and pretty close together. In one of my projects, a "trambot," the (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Question to the pro's. I am teaching a basic class to a bunch of 3rd and 4th graders. What is the limit on commands that the RCX can handel at one time using firmware?   Re: RIS 2.0 Ideas

Many excellent ideas have been suggested... I would most like to see Lego servos like what we have in remote control. These could use both an input and motor connection with appropriate firmware. <ICS> -- Did you check the web site first?: (URL) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: r/c servos

I love the idea of controlling an R/C servo with the RCX, but I don't think it is possible with only software. On the other hand, a relatively simple circuit could be made to convert a duty cycle to a R/C servo signal. Is anyone out there interested (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: ideas for a RIS 2.0 - Rechargability

I tried NiMH batteries in my RCX. It lost its firmware. I suspect the output voltage (6 x 1.2 = 7.2) is too low. You should be able to do it using an external battery pack, but I suggest you use 8 cells instead of 6. The resulting 9.6 volts shouln't (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
