  King of the hill

Howdy, I'm looking for fellow Mindstormers in the Houston, Texas area for sparing. Basicaly, I want to try a "king of the hill" type of competition. White circular field, black border (say black electrical tape), last robot inside the field wins. (...) (26 years ago, 28-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

  Ir transmission

Hi, is there any way to send IR messages using pbForth. This is in order to use the IR proximity detector commonly used with nqc programs. Also I think that with alternative firmware such as pbForth and nqc, it should be possible to do it without (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

(...) Maybe we can communicate with RCX via Morse code? :-) There are also five buttons to let you start any of the five stored programs. With the non-lego firmware, maybe we can use these five buttons for additional messages. Right now, for me the (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  New firmware volunteer

I'm following with great interest the discussion about a new firmware for the RCX. When the discussion started, I expressed some opinions about staying as much compatible as possible with the official firmware. Now, after a second thought, I realize (...)   Re: Temperature sensor limits?

(...) As far as I can tell, the limits of reading the temp sensor (using the RCX firmware) are from about -20C to +70C. Anything outside of that range will not get interpreted by the RCX firmware. If you're thinking about reading it in some custom (...) (25 years ago, 17-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  loading s/w

After successfully downloading and running tm-and-ir.srec (Linux host), I cannot download to it any longer. Upon power up, the LCD displays LEGO!5 and I can select any other program slots.   Re: New RIK-user hints, bumpers, many topics

(...) I don't much like C, but I used NQC as a means to an end because it uses the standard firmware. If I am going to have to go to the trouble of downloading new firmware then I'll go with FORTH (not just because I have a Jupiter Ace in the loft). (25 years ago, 16-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I've mislead you. The ROM does not support native threads. The firmware simulates cooperative threads. The firmware selects one of six functions to run based on priority and whether or not a run flag has been set for that function. The run (...) (25 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Something else is needed, I think...

  Reading sensors at equal intervals.
