  Re: Robotics in Aussie

I agree with Laurentino. I am very impressed with the Cybermaster. I was also originally worried that it had been trimmed down, but the more I experiment with it, I realise that the only loss is possibly the more advanced sensors. I now see the (...) (26 years ago, 11-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Lego Mindstorms on Mac using Virtual PC?

One thing that might be hampering you is the cabling. The cable that comes with the Mindstorms kit is a null modem cable in the sense that the RX and TX lines are swapped.   Lego Mindstorms on Mac using Virtual PC?

I'm new to this list, so forgive me if this has been discussed before. Has anyone managed to get the Lego Mindstorms software/hardware to work on a Mac using Virtual PC? It seems this should be possible, but the cables I currently have to convert (...) (26 years ago, 29-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

The firmware is the program that controls the RCX unit. You should go to the lego mindstorms web page (www.legomindstorms.com) and look for the documentation for programming with the Spirit.ocx. It lists the commands that are used by the RCX and the (...) (26 years ago, 30-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Yes. Great stuff Dave and Mark ! We built a tracked robot and find the "remote control" utilizing the joystick (version 2.0 of RCXCC) to be just as cool as programming it to run autonomously.   Re: Working around the 3 output limitation

This is a little ramble on the subject. The ideas in the later posts of this thread are in my opinion what Lego **is**. It is innovation in the face of "limited" options. It is creativity and problem solving. When I bought my Mindstorms it said (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I thought so too. I did have the RCX on at the time. I also checked out the full communications tonight by downloading the firmware using Mindstorms.   Help! Can't talk to IR Tower with Mac w/nqcc!  [DAT]

I bought Mindstorms and downloaded nqcc to talk to the RCX, but I can't seem to get connected. I created a cable (actually its a bunch of cables strung together) and confirmed the wiring. I (ultimately) have the following: Mac IR (Male connector) 1 (...) (26 years ago, 20-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
