Self-brew flexible bricks and silent motor for Lego NXT

In the context of my study Industrial Design at the TU/e I have developed a 'natural animation' expansion pack for Lego® Mindstorms® NXT. My goal was to create an actuator and brick that stimulate natural animation and are useful for the creation of (...) (17 years ago, 12-Jan-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  C$ - Code Only

Here's a quick look at the interface for a code-only C$ game. 1) There must be some method to tell you code if it's going first or second. 2) When it's your turn, calculate a move, then send an IR message which indicates the column number (1-7) of (...)   The NEXT game.

In conversations that started off with Bruce, and expanded to a few of us at the end of the night.... I think we have a working game to be argued about here. our criteria. 1. Chris does not want to hump the 8x8' play field anywhere 2. Bruce does (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: New TECHNIC sets for Fall 2008. Box images leaked!

Hi Fernando, thanks for the update - I'm afraid I am somewhere between feelings on these new sets. For one, I agree with all who think that replacing real pneumatics with anything lookalike is not exactly the way to go. I shall be curious about the (...)   Re: Another Theo Jansen style LEGO Walker

Hi Steve, very interesting design and a great video, too. Maybe I am missing part of the whole point here, but with the crankshaft allowing for single-motor drive, how would this beast move anywhere else but straight ahead? Just asking because I am (...)   Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) #8528 is the 9V or Mindstorms 2.0 to NXT converter. I am looking for the 9V (2x2 plate connector) to a Power Functions (new style 2x2 connector found on the power functions motors). Or, I'll also take the NXT to Power Functions cable as well. (17 years ago, 26-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: BricxCC release 3.3.7.7

(...) Unfortunately, BricxCC is still not downloading the brickOS firmware correctly. I will look into this problem and try to fix it. In the mean time, you can use firmdl3 which works correctly.   "reverse parking sensor" type sensor for Mindstorms
